Decorating With a Halloween Headed Paper Bag

Decorating With a Halloween Headed Paper BagAn inexpensive and fun way to decorate your home or office is to use a Halloween themed writing paper. These decorations can be used in many ways to create a focal point in your room.Paper bags are often used as the main focal point for these paper molds. A variety of colors are available to use, but the basic ones will have a bright red paper bag which has been wrapped in black paper. This paper mache should be cut to the proper size depending on how much room you have. You can also use small paper mache bowls as well.If you are working with a dark color, you can cover the bag with the dark paper first. For bright colored bags, it is best to cover them with a pale pink paper first. You can use different colored paper or stencils to help the paint stick to the paper. For those who want to use stencils, you can use those large stickers that can be found at any craft store. When you are ready to apply the paper mache, take a pair of gloves and dip it into water. Once the paper is wet, you can rub it up to make sure it is nice and smooth. The trick is to rub it lightly so you do not risk the paper sticking to your hands.Using a brush, paint around the edges of the paper machine and put a dot of color on the corners. Once you have the coloring done, remove the paper mache. Use a marker or a sharpie to write the name of the person who you want to appear on the face of the bag or bowl. Do this by painting in the name. You can also add a pair of sunglasses or draw a monster face on it.Draw a little silhouette of the person and print it out. Cut out the outline of the person using a good quality free computer program. To make the eyes, you can add a small amount of glue to the eyelashes of the mold. Cut the eyes out with scissors or you can cut it out yourself. To do this, you will need to make two copies of the mold. You will be using this mold to decorate the bag, so it is important to make sure it is clean and dry before you apply the paper mache. Make sure the edges are smooth, but have an area that you need to cut out. Apply the masking tape to the front and back of the mold and allow it to set for at least an hour. After the tape has set, apply a second coat of paper mache and allow it to set. Use the razor to shave down the edges of the mold and allow it to dry for at least five minutes. Then apply glue to the mold and press it into place. Add a few decorations to make it look more realistic.
